The foundation of my professional belief system include the fundamental truth of the 3 legs of the "landscape stool": Any shortage of the 3 legs, (Design, Construction, Maintenance), makes an unstable perch. I am in the business of great design. Add to this, project management services, with an eye to long-term maintenance, you are ensured a project of lasting beauty, function, and value.

As a Landscape Architect, my professional practice includes over 40 years as such, and prior to this I was employed in landscape and building construction. In fact, these experiences paid for my university training, (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, BS Landscape Architecture, 1983). My professional accomplishments include commissions ranging from small entry courtyards and "vest pocket" backyards of 400 sq. ft., to master planned regional parks/community centers of 55 acres.

On my personal side, I have been married to Sally, (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, B.S. Animal

Science/M.S. Agricultural Science, 1984), for 33 years and we have 3 kids. I have coached just

about all types of youth sports and high school football. Currently I am on the Board of

Directors of the Healdsburg Future Farmers Country Fair where I am the committee chairman of the Barn Dance and Dinner and Booths/Grounds, as well as a member of Long Term Planning, the year ending Appreciation Dinner Party, Buildings and Grounds, Livestock and Auction, and Scholarship committees.

I have also volunteered my professional skills to the tune of tens, (hundreds?), of thousands of

dollars to all of the Healdsburg Schools, (including the playfield development and tree plantings at HES), Healdsburg Parks, and several of the local churches.  Recently I provided the Master Plan for the "Prune Packer Plaza" as part of the on-going work at Recreation Park.
